Planning Your First Long Road Trip of 2022
It’s time, Mission Viejo!
Summer 2022 is here, and you may be preparing for your first long road trip of the year. It’s so fun to plan the food, the sites, and the adventures–but let’s take some time to talk about the less glamorous stuff. Whether you’re headed across the USA or on your way to Laguna Beach, you should plan for any situation. Doing a quick check of all the vitals helps keep you safer, it gives you peace of mind. Before heading out, make sure to consider:
Gas stations. Planning for gas stations may seem tedious, but it’s essential. This is a crucial consideration if you’re going on a more extended road trip. Make sure you have the gas stations you want to stop at figured out because there may come long stretches of road in between. No one wants to be in the middle of nowhere with their gas tank on E!
Sunglasses and glasses. Sometimes we get so caught up in packing that we forget the basics, and sunglasses are one of those things you just can’t road trip without. Of course, you could grab a pair at the gas station, but triple-check you’ve got a pair handy to avoid the convenience up-charge.
Phone chargers. You never know what will happen on a road trip, and that’s part of the fun! But having a phone charger will save you a lot of grief if you end up out longer than you expected and your phone dies. Car chargers will keep your phone charged for the whole ride.
Emergency kit. Do you have flares, water bottles, or blankets? An emergency car kit should always be in the trunk of your car, but make sure it’s there before a road trip.
Extra fluids. You might not be qualified to top off your oil or transmission fluid (unless you are, in that case, nice!), but windshield wiper fluid can come especially in handy during a road trip.
If you want to make sure your car is ready to make that trip, come check in with us! We can top off your fluids and check your tires. Contact our technicians today if your AC has you worried.
